Why I, as a doctor, clearly advocate supplements today
A report from Dr. Roger Gmür (CH)
I've been working in aesthetic medicine for many years. It's a field that not only transforms the outside world, but often also moves the inside . People come to me because they want to improve something about themselves. Be it through liposuction, a tummy tuck, or a fat transfer. Ultimately, it's never "just a procedure." It's always a process . And that's where the responsibility begins for me.
After all, what is the point of the most beautiful surgical success if the body cannot function optimally in the background?
Beauty begins in the cell nucleus, not in the operating room…
Beauty is born in the cell nucleus, not in the operating room...
Over the years, I've realized that the body can only heal at its highest level if it receives the right building blocks. Many processes such as wound healing, cell regeneration, collagen formation, and inflammation regulation depend on micronutrients. This isn't theory, it's biochemistry .
I used to buy many of these substances in pharmaceutical form from pharmacies, like bromelain, to reduce bruises. Today, I use high-quality supplements that naturally support these functions. I see that the effect remains, and access is becoming easier.
And what about nutrition
Of course, I often hear: “Can’t all of this be solved with nutrition?”
And my honest answer is: Theoretically yes - practically rarely...
- many people can no longer or do not want to cook fresh food ,
- Organic quality is nice, but not always affordable,
- and canteen food and convenience food are part of everyday life.
If I subject a body to surgical stress when it's not even supplied with essential nutrients, I'm hindering its ability to heal properly. And that makes neither medical sense nor is it in the best interest of my patients.

That is why I consciously recommend dietary supplements
For me as a doctor, it is clear: dietary supplements are no substitute for a healthy diet.
But they can be an essential support in certain phases, such as before or after interventions, in order to:
- to optimally supply the cell metabolism
- reduce oxidative stress
- Strengthen skin & connective tissue
- and promote the body's own regeneration
I work with selected combinations of collagen, antioxidants, enzymes, and vitamins, always with an eye on quality, tolerability, and composition.
And yes, I also use them privately because I know what they can do.
My conclusion as a doctor and human being:
We can operate, tighten, and improve a lot...
But if you don't support your body on the inside, the surface remains just cosmetic...
Beauty begins with health. And health begins at the cellular level...
That's why, for me, supplements are not a trend, but part of modern, responsible medicine.
Stay healthy,
Yours, Dr. Roger Gmür (CH)
